How to cancel Trainual

Only a Billing Admin can cancel Trainual, from Account and then Billing. The account stays open until the end of your billing cycle, and Trainual removes your data 30 days after that, so export what you need first. Exports are PDFs, one subject at a time.
Before you cancel Trainual: export your content
Trainual has no bulk export. You save content as PDFs one subject, document, or flowchart at a time, from the three-dot menu next to it (Print PDF, then Save to PDF). Admins and above can export anything, and subject owners can export their own subjects. An admin first has to switch on the Enable PDF downloads setting.
Some content doesn't export as a PDF at all: tests, standalone videos, checklists, premium courses, and standalone files. If you rely on those, save the source files elsewhere before your billing cycle ends.
A one-star Capterra review from December 2025 says there is no way to download or move your data if you leave, and no way to download in bulk. Per-subject PDF exports do exist, so “no way” overstates it, but the point about bulk export matches Trainual's own documentation. With a large library, budget real time for this step.
How to cancel Trainual, step by step
- Sign in as a Billing Admin. Only Billing Admins can change or cancel a Trainual plan.
- Expand Account in the left navigation and open Billing.
- Click the Cancel subscription link at the bottom of the page.
- Tick the checkbox under Acknowledgements and press Next.
- Pick your main reason for canceling, press Next, and add any feedback.
- Click Cancel plan to finish.
What happens after you cancel
Your team keeps full access until the end of the current billing cycle, and then the account closes with no further charges. Trainual's help center says your data is set to be removed 30 days after the official cancellation date, and that you can't get into the account after the cancellation takes effect.
Trainual's help center doesn't say whether any unused time or the one-time $1,000 implementation fee is refunded. If that matters, ask your account contact before you cancel. What each plan includes is on our Trainual pricing page.
Pausing Trainual instead of canceling
If you expect to come back, a Billing Admin can put the account on a 3-month hold for $20 per month. Trainual keeps your content, settings, team progress, and brand styles, but nobody can sign in to the platform during the hold. If cost is the reason, Trainual's help center also suggests a lower plan or fewer seats.
